green lights

We heard back from our real estate agent and the sellers have agreed to fix the things that need fixing. He gave us the green light to contact the woman we are working with at the bank to move forward with all of the financial stuff. I have no idea what sort of timeline we are looking at until we are officially the new owners of the house. I will post when we are, and take pictures as soon as I can. I am really looking forward to getting in there and adding our personal touches to it. My sister offered to come and help paint and I plan to take her up on her offer.

The other green light came via the telephone as well. I am now officially insured.
I need to make an appointment for a consultation with the Peri who has been recommended...why am I so reluctant to do this?

The snow melted away and the roads are safe and dry again.

Oh, yay all around!
Will you let us know what colors you choose? People sometimes give me grief for some of my choices, at least before the paint goes on. I have gotten much more adventurous over the years, too. That's a very long way of saying I am really looking forward to seeing what you go with for the walls because I love the colors in your paintings.

I'll be sure to let you know the colors I choose when I choose them. Thank you for the compliment about the colors in my paintings.

In my house in Seattle I used a deep red in my kitchen and chartreuse on one wall in my living room. It was a small house that was built in the 1950s and the saturated colors gave the house a good energy.

So far the only direction I am clear about for the new house is something very light and ethereal for the master bedroom. Ralph Lauren makes a paint treatment called Candlelight that I want to use...but I'm not sure what color will be the base. It was Mr. C's idea to go with this theme in the master bedroom.

Oh, and the office is already painted in a deep red, but I plan to do a glaze effect on top of it to give it more depth.

The house has high ceilings (vaulted in the entry) so I am not sure how dark I want to go in most of the rooms, especially on the first level.

Oh, yah, and I also know that I plan to paint the bedroom next to ours a very pale blue, the walls and the ceiling. If a baby comes along then there will be other things painted on these walls.

I guess I have more ideas than I'd realized:) We'll see what materializes.

Yay! How exciting :)

Also your paint ideas sound wonderful. Candlelight sounds so romantic. I can't wait for pics.

I deal with R/E closings at work...if all goes according to plan and schedule I'd say you'd be the new owners in about 20 to 45 days...if there's a snafoo maybe longer, in any event it shouldn't be TOO long! Congrats!!

Wow!
How cool green lights all round.
I love moving house and decorating. Actually I'm sick of decorating but I always get so excited about the prospect of it.
Do post pics when you've finished.
