I'm on my way out the door to take these paintings to Sheri. I am wondering if she will like them. I'll know in a while:)

Well *I* love them! Can I have one?
They remind me a little of Caitlin Dundon's work from One Heart Studio here locally. Do you know her work?
Lucky, lucky Sheri. They are gorgeous and the colors are almost edible in their deliciousness.
Beautiful! Niobe's description is right on.
Ditto, they are wonderful!
Those colours! I love them too:)
Very nice. They would look perfect in our house. Was this the "secret project" you were working on?
Thanks for the compliments everyone!
Lori,
Sure you can have one. Give me an idea of dimensions, color scheme and motif and I will be more than happy to paint you one. I hadn't heard of the artist you mentioned, but I looked her up and realized that I have seen her boxes (I think at Fireworks). I've used text in many of my paintings. Sometimes the text is the inspiration for the painting. In this case the quote was added near the end. These three paintings (some of the pictures are details) are influenced by pop artists and colorists like Delaunay, Rothko, Dine and I suppose Jasper Johns, too. I think it is fun to jump into something like this and see where it takes you.
Monica H.,
I really do mean to respond to the e-mail, but I will answer that question now. No these aren't the "secret project" that I alluded to back in the spring. I will post pictures (since I said I would) of the photo album that I made for my friend when she was expecting her little miss, who was born almost exactly a year after her stillborn brother. She may eventually post pictures of the photo album herself, complete with photos of the little baby girl, on her site (Pyjamma Mummy).
Wow, long comment. I guess I need to post more often:)
Beautiful. So incredibly simple and poignant. I would love to have you paint something for me.
Really?!? Oh.... I will have to think about that!! I would love it, and will have to give it some thought.
We actually had Caitlin make the small box that holds our twins remains, as well as a larger box which contains the smaller box and other special mementos. I love them.
There is a cool studio/store in Ballard called Venue that is all the work of local artists. I'll bet you would really like it, if you haven't been there before.
Wow-- the colors! I bet these would warm up any room or house. Lucky Sheri.
I know it's years later, but I just ran across your blog. These paintings are beautiful. I would be proud to hang one on my wall.
