Don't worry, we won't forget to take you with us

I couldn't resist taking this picture. Jackson is very out-of-sorts right now due to the move. So far he is still here at the house but tomorrow we will move almost everything else. He and Cleo will remain for a few more days, along with an air mattress and a few essentials since I am "urban camping" until Wednesday. I am worried about how things will be for sweet Jackson when we actually move him. He didn't handle the move to West Seattle well, and that was only a fifteen minute car ride. This time it will be more like 4 hours and then a few days at the Kitty Hilton. Poor little guy. I've considered trying to get him something from the vet, but honestly a trip to the vet would be comparable in terms of trauma for him.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Our cats were miserable during our moves. Hmmm...Trying to think of what may help. For sure keep a towel with them from the old place for the smells. They were terrified when they arrived at our new place and there wasn't any stuff around - nowhere to hide, but they finally found a shelf. But if they're going to the Hilton, I assume that means they're moving in after you have the stuff in? Otherwise I would say place some empty boxes around. I don't know that there's really any great way to comfort cats during a move. Cover their carrier during the move so they're in the dark, and can't see the movement.

Good luck!

Poor kitty. When we moved to a new house, ours hid somewhere in the bouse for a week and we thought we'd lost her for good.

We always put the cat in one room so they don't get out. And put a shirt or something in the room that has your scent. BTW, the cat in the box looks identical to my Sophia. The vet calls her a "torbie" because she is part tortoise shell part tabby.

Oh, but he is cute. I have no cats, so I am no help. Just wanted to say that he is a beauty.
